West Orange Recreation Department held their annual Recreation Achievement Awards this month and the Pal Honoree was Pete Pannucci Sr.

The Pannucci family was there to accept the award for Pete since his passing in the weeks before.  It was fortunate though that Pete was told about the award before his passing and had the opportunity  to know that he was being recognized by an organization that he loved for his years of service and commitment.

Mr. Albanese, Mr. Parisi and Mr. Maganello all were in attendance to present the award to the Pannucci family.   It is with sorrow that we see the passing of someone who has helped so many but the examples set will continue to be followed and this will keep the memories alive. April 17, 2010 at 11:00am will open the 2010 Baseball Season.  This year the first pitch is being thrown out by Jeff Domenic a player from the past who has had some medical issues but held true to his love of family, sports and childhood memories.  His memories of the PAL are exactly what we hope every kid gets out the PAL and that is why he was selected to throw out the first pitch to open the 2010 baseball season.

Opening Night will be April 30 at Lichtenstien field at 6:00pm.

April 24th from 9pm to 12pm at Eagle Rock Lanes.  $20.00 per adult, $15.00 per kid 14 and under.  We do need sponsors at a fee of $50.00.  Please call Craig Vanderhoof at 973-669-1526 or email info@wopal.org with your name and telephone #  and someone will get back to you.
